I Love My Mommy
By Michael Levine, Bonnie Puckett and Eric Litwin
Lyrics:
I’m bouncing on her knee
I love my mommy
It’s where I want to be
I love my mommy
I know that she loves me
I love my mommy
We sing so happily
I’m shaking on his knee
I love my daddy
It’s where I want to be
I love my daddy
I know that he loves me
I love my daddy
We sing so happily, yeah!
And when the day turns into night
They tuck me in and hold me tight
And when the night turns into day
Then it’s time for us to play
I’m rocking on her knee
I love my nanny
It’s where I want to be
I love my nanny
I know that she loves me
I love my nanny
We sing so happily, yeah!
And when the day turns into night
They tuck me in and hold me tight
And when the night turns into day
Then it’s time for us to play
Activities:
Lap Song: Lap songs are a great opportunity for parent/ child bonding. With your child in your lap, you can sing along with the CD and bounce, shake & rock your child for each verse. You can also sing the song a cappella - this way you can take suggestions, like bouncing, shaking, rocking, leaning, wiggling, tickling, hugging, etc. Tell your child beforehand to say, “I love my mommy” after each line. At the end of each verse, sing the “yeah!” part while lifting your child up in the air.
You can also sing about all your family members & friends!
Instrument Play: Play drums, shakers or other fun toys to the beat while singing with the CD.
Reggae Music: Explain to your child that this song is in the style of Reggae. Find other examples of Reggae music to play for your child. Then sing and dance to the funky beat!
