Together
Music by Michael Levine, Lyrics by Eric Litwin and Michael Levine
Lyrics:
Yo da hee, yo da ho, yo da ho
Here we are; we are dancing to the groove
We are dancing together
Here we are; we are having so much fun
I wish this could last forever.
Yo da hee, yo da ho, yo da ho
Here we are; we are singing to the groove
We are singing together
Here we are; we are having so much fun
I wish this could last forever.
Yo da hee, yo da ho, yo da ho
Years from now, looking back
When I’m all grown up, what will be remembered?
Years from now, looking back
When I’m all grown up, what will be remembered?
You & I will know
That I loved you so.
Here we are; we are laughing to the groove
We are laughing together
Here we are; we are having so much fun
I wish this could last forever.
Yo da hee, yo da ho, yo da ho
Activities:
Rhythm Sticks (motor coordination, rhythm & pitch development – all ages): Sing the song without the CD and swap out activities for the words dancing, singing or laughing in each verse (such as running, skiing, rowing, hopping (with sticks as bunny ears), rolling, tapping, clicking, walking, flying (like bird wings or an airplane), etc. Then you can either have a different “move” for “yo da hee...” or continue the same move of that verse (the latter is recommended, since the verses are short. It’s best to give young children time to try each move).
Dance Together (motor coordination, rhythm & pitch development – all ages): Sing & dance with the CD (using scarves can add more fun!). You can also swap out different activities (jump, twirl, march, clap, shake, wiggle, dance, etc.) in each verse, especially if you sing without the CD.
Example for sticks or direction dance:
Here we are; we are ______ing to the groove We are ______ing together Here we are; we are having so much fun I wish this could last forever.
Jam (rhythm, motor coordination, exploring instrument sounds – all ages): Get instruments and jam with the music!
