Bullfrog
By Eric Litwin

Lyrics:

Look at the bullfrog

There on an old log

He sees a horsefly
And when it flies by
(Slurp!)
He eats it!

Look at the green frog
There on an old log
He sees a horsefly
And when it flies by
(Slurp!)
He eats it!

Look at the brown frog
There on an old log
He sees a horsefly
And when it flies by
(Slurp!)
He eats it!

Activities:

Clapping & Rhythm Exercise: Try clapping to the rhythm. This song is in an alternate time signature of 5/8. It can be easiest to understand by breaking the 5 beats into 123 12. Pat your laps on beat 1 and clap on beat 4 (or the second “one”). Start by counting and clapping with your child to get the rhythm going, and then start singing the song. Have your child repeat after you, and take suggestions for new colors for each verse.

Rhythm Sticks: If you have rhythm sticks available, you can do the same activity, but instead of patting your laps and clapping, you hit the floor with your sticks and then click them together for the clap.

Make a funny chomping motion with your hands (or sticks) and slurping sound with your mouth during the “Slurp” part and then say, “He eats it!” together.

Color in the Picture: Color the picture of “Bullfrog” in the coloring sheet.
