Crocodile Shop
By Eric Litwin

Lyrics:

I work all day at the Crocodile Shop
I put my lunch on the counter top
Chop chop chop,
Chop chop chop
No more lunch on the counter top

I work all day at the Crocodile Shop
I put my hat on the counter top
Chop chop chop,
Chop chop chop
No more hat on the counter top

Activities:

Sit-down song/ chant/ fingerplay (with the CD): Play the CD and pat your knees to the rhythm of the song. On the “chop chop chop” part, make a chopping motion “alligator-style” with your whole arms and hands. Go through the song singing “no more lunch and hat” on each verse, as depicted in the song.

Get Creative and Take Suggestions (without the CD): Sing the song a cappella so you can take suggestions for other things that could be left on the counter top besides lunch and hat. Leave it open-ended and ask, “What else can be left on the counter top?” or help point your child in a specific direction by asking, “Name some other articles of clothing,” (shoes, jacket, pants, shirt, socks, etc.). You can also take suggestions for different foods that can be left on the counter top (cheese, apples, etc.).

Color in the Picture: Color the picture of “Crocodile Shop” in the coloring sheet.
