Lyrics:

Five little monkeys jumping on the bed,

One fell off and bumped his head.

Mama called the Doctor and the Doctor said,

"No more monkeys jumping on the bed!"

Four little monkeys jumping on the bed...

Three little monkeys jumping on the bed...

Two little monkeys jumping on the bed...

One little monkey jumping on the bed...

No little monkeys jumping on the bed,

None fell off and bumped their head.

Mama called the Doctor and the Doctor said,

“Put those monkeys back to bed!

Activities

Sit-Down Song and Finger Play: Sing this song a cappella or with the CD, acting out the motions with your hands.

“Five little monkeys jumping on the bed” – Hold up five (four, three, etc.) fingers and bounce them up and down as if jumping.

“One fell off and bumped his head.” – Bump your head with your hand.

“Mama called the Doctor and the Doctor said,” – put out your pinky and thumb like a phone to your face and sing.

"No more monkeys jumping on the bed!" – Put out index finger and shake back and forth authoritatively, and chant in a funny doctor’s voice.

Last verse, “No little monkeys jumping on the bed” -- hold arms out like you’re questioning, “where did they go?”

Last line, “Put those monkeys back to bed” – put your hands together like a pillow and rest your head on them.   It’s fun to pretend to fall asleep and snore loudly, and let your child wake you up!.
